Affordable Technology Solutions Seminar
Please join us on June 6th at the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired in San Francisco to discuss accessible, low-cost or no-cost software for screen magnification and screen reading systems. All solutions presented will either be free or under $200.

Discover new enhancements to Mac OS X Leopard, an operating system that is compatible with braille displays. If you own a Windows XP-based computer, maximize the options you already have by learning how to run the applications built into Microsoft Accessibility tools. These include high contrast schemes, size and color of the mouse cursor, and cursor width and blink rate. Explore System Access, a program that is a low-cost screen reader, as well as SAM Net, an Internet community designed especially for blind users. We will also learn about a Linux-compatible screen reader and NonVisual Desktop Access.

This is the fifth in our series of technology workshops. Attendance is free and open to all LightHouse clients and members of the public. You can participate in one of three ways: via a live audio stream on our website, through a free telephone conferencing service or in person. If you come in person, please stay after the seminar for product demonstrations. This location is wheelchair accessible. Assisted listening devices and other disability accommodations are available upon request.

Please RSVP to attend this event by calling 888-400-8933 or by sending an email to info@lighthouse-sf.org. For those participating via conference call or live stream, instructions will be provided when you RSVP.
